The rules in WA

A West Aussie and a New South Welshman were hunting in the north west WA when an
indidge runs across the field.
The West Aussie takes careful aim with his rifle, shoots, and kills him.
"You can't do that!" cried the New South Welshman.
"No, no, it's legal here in West Australia " replies the West Aussie
Later that night the New South Welshman goes and buys some beer and puts it on
the roof of his ute to open the door.
Just then an indidge runs by, grabs the beer, and runs away.
The New South Welshman thinks "No problem" grabs his gun, shoots, and kills him.
As he was recovering his beer the police come and arrested him.
"But I thought it was legal to shoot incdidge's in West Australia !"
protests the New South Welshman.
"Well yeah," says the cop, "but you can't use bait."
