im green with greenstone
howdy folks. My first gold post so go easy on me haha. Anyway im a little uneducated on this greenstone stuff so hav sum questions. Greenstones are the engine room of gold production correct? and is usualy a granite that has been tossed about with heat and pressure? So can u see this greenstone in the bush? Are their types of greenstone to look out for eg amphibolite, dolerite? How am i doin so far! :) fb

Mate your correct on all counts, and yes the greenstone 99% of times
is visible in the surface rubble..
Usually cant see the slight greenish colour until ya crack it open and see a fresh bit
of stone as it can be quite dark from weathering on the outside.

hey cheers pete. Glad im on the right track! so a mate reckoned gold among the greenstone was rough as it was lazy and hadnt moved far! so how often do ya find gold in amongst this green stuf u reckon? Or is it more likely to b tumbled out in the surrounding geo? Thx mate.

The Greenstone is the "Country rock" or general area local rock group that we then need to
be looking for shear/fault/crush zones in for the deposition of Minerals inc gold, also where
the greenstone changes to any other rock type contact.
Take look at these vids that run you through the whole scenario of reading the ground and
what to keep an eye out for, good info in them.
