Posting pictures
G'day, I thought I would do a post on posting pictures to your post for those who do not know how to.
Firstly a file sharing account needs to be created, here are some links to a few free ones:
http://photobucket.com/
http://www.fileave.com/login.aspx
http://www.free-webhosts.com/free-image-hosting.php?sort=2
Once an account is created you then upload a photo, once your photo is uploaded to your free account and saved you will see you photo in your gallery.
To get that photo in your post you place your mouse cursor over the wanted photo and you will see the following (this is using photobucket)
If you left click on the 'IMG code' it will be highlighted and says copied, if not right click and 'copy'
Come back to your post and again right click 'paste'.
To check that your photo has worked select the preview button and you will see your photo.
Hopefully that is clearer than mud. For any additional info.....ask someone else
Cheers[/quote]

Re: Posting pictures
Hi Yibidavid,
I'd be excited if I found rocks like that in a gold bearing location.
Cheers Kev

Could this be gold bearing Greenstone?
Hi Kev, The point is I spotted these rocks in a bicycle park with the grounds all landscaped with lots of beautiful native plants, so the question is- - is this a gold producing area or have these rocks been brought here to strengthen the area around this drain & creek area, from somewhere else. Being so close to a major city ( Brisbane) about 35ks, one doesn't expect to find gold? I might have to crank up my GP3500 & give it a burl over this spot. I've rambled on enough but now that I know how to download photos- thanks to K-Town swinger I will be posting a few more, so common you "geologists"give me something- am I wasting my time or could there be potential here!

Re: Posting pictures
G'day David
Mate, in the top photo, thats a course grained Greenstone or Green-schist as its also known.
The bottom photo looks more like a Dolerite type Volcanic, both are found in high metamorphic
gold bearing locations, heat, pressure and re forming into these morphed rock types from basic
and volcanic types.
The Qrtz inclusion in the top photo looks very Buck or baron, i would now be looking for ironstone
mineral in the local area and look for the contact of the Greenstone and iron...
Get your hands on a 1:5000 Geo map of the area also.
Any water courses or gullies should be checked for all of the above rock combinations and test panned for colour.
Good luck David and keep us up to speed on it mate
