First gold of 2012

Well i finally bagged myself my first nugget of 2012

After 5 previously unsuccessful outings this year i thought i would never pull another nugget from the earth again, so was pretty happy with this find.

I was working along the bottom of a hill when i got a ripper of a signal, after scraping the top centimetre or so off with my boot i realsised the signal had already moved and i instantly thought it was a bullet. After pin pointing i got the target in my scoop first time around (a first for me) and quickly there after got my first glimpse of it. Being so close to the surface it was quite clean, and i cant help but wander that if i had taken a bit more time at the start i may have had my first sunbaker???

Needless to say i detected up the hill, down further on to the flat and all around with nothing else to show for my effort.

She weighed in at about the 6 gram mark and was found not far from where i found my first ever nugget late last year (which also turns out to be a 6 grammer after re weighing) so i reckon im onto decent area here.

Been nearly 2 months since i went out for gold and i can tell you i'm as keen as a fat kid on a cupcake.

Heat never used to bother me but since i been on these friggin new pills to keep the donk runnin
the heat drops me real easy , 36c feels like 48c any gold in ant arctica :rolf:

6g nice nugget to start the year, 6g's is all I managed to get last year in 6 nuggets & some fines, I live to far away from the Goldfields 450k's, hope this year will see the pot with a good rattle.

Keep on swinging,i went 200 hours between finds. And then went well on the next 2 trips. Thats what i love about this sport...
