more sdc2300 mods and maintenance
as its the off season and I take the SDC2300 down the beach i thought i would remove the skid plate on the coil to clean out any sand etc that found its way in there. its a bit tricky first time so i thought i would post a pic on doing it...

i got a start by gently prying with a couple of butter knives...

some gentle persuasion and off she popped...

I found a bit of sand in there but very little really concidering i was detecting in the sea...

cleaned it up and pop it back on, easy job and its very flexible plastic so no damage..

then i picked up some waterproof headphones and an adapter 1/4 to 1/8 inch (6.5 to 3.5mm ) connected to the patch cord and waterproofed the join (i will be shrink wrapping as extra protection) ready for some under water detecting...
