12v cig holders--more mods Empty 12v cig holders--more mods

well for a bloke that doesnt smoke i have 8 cigareet plud sockets in my troopy --just in case i take smoking up again..

Nah seriously i installed a few sockets to make it easier to run cables to my fridges etc

theres a 3 set socket on my overhead console for the crash cam-tomtom-and recharger of my tector battery

another set of 2 sockets for the fridge behind the passenger --easy access for a cold dring while travelling along by myself.

another set of 2 sockets at the rear for the fridge freezer at the back and a socket to charge me work lights which are LED and last 8 hours..highly recommend these blue encased lights --- same as the ones in my workshop..12v or 240v charging.

then i got excited and installed another small fluro in the rear of the troopy just inside above the rear doors and will also hook it up to the doors opening switch..

just got to install the electric blanket

THE TWO MAIN ONES ARE Narva twin 12v sockets--these are used for the fridges the third one is a 3 plug cheapie that runs a tomtom and crash cam..and this one runs directly of the car cig lighter.

thanks for the up side..

even the flouros are narva--expensive but good--and both wired to the door open sensor--light galour.

sorry not to clear but the fluro certainly brightens up the interior.

the rear end of the troopy with a new fluro and cig accessories holder for the fridges.

rear end set up The top light is wired to the reverse light and works a treat the other two are fully adjustable and have two power sources --and they throw a heap of light ideal for both sides of the vehicle or when u have to change a tyre at night..

12v cig holders--more mods Empty ciggy lighter plugs

Post by Dozer Wed 09 Jul 2014, 6:56 am

Where possible I have replaced all ciggy plugs with these
Merit plugs are far more "positive" in their connection (no pun intended) so when I am bush bashing up ridges The Engel is still connected to the socket on the headboard of the ute.
We are slowly converting some of the work utes to them as well.

I got sick of cig lighter plugs falling out or losing contact on bumpy tracks. I switched to the two pin low voltage plugs that used to be used in the old 32 volt farm power supplies for my fridges. Still use 4 cig lighters for the det batterys and UHF's though.
