Reefy gold

G,day, came across a patch a few days ago and pulled out 44 nuggets with total weight being 20.4 grams, no big nuggs came out but managed a few just over a gram, most of the nuggets were within 2" from the surface and the gold is very reefy and some with ironstone, all in an area about 30 metres x 20 metres, and in one small spot i dug 5 nuggets all within a few inches of each other, im heading back there with some water and a gold pan and do some loaming and see what comes up, Stu

spent the morning loaming and found ziltch, zip, nothing not even a spec so i kept chaining and found 2 more nuggets and an ironstone specie,

Hi snapper in regards to the rabbits they are coming back again after the calicivirus was introduced , not bad every now n then to supplement the meat supply either. trapps are getting rare but you can find them now n again at some country town flea markets , i beleive the do gooder greenies have outlawed there use nowadays .. enjoy your waskily wabbit stoo anyhows.

Hi watif , yea myxo was first go but it only lasted 20 years before the rabbit numbers increased again, then late 90s the calicivirus was introduced , seems the same thing again , iv noticed more lately than 10 years ago

Hi, dug another 5 nuggets this morning for 2 grams total, going to put the 8" minelab coil on and cross chain and see what turns up, the cap is only 6" to 8" down and this coil might pick up any small ones down on the cap, Stu

This morning i put the 8" minelab coil on and detected where the nuggets were most concentrated and cross chained the area, straight away i started to find very small nuggets at different depths, 8 nuggets in quick time but the storm clouds were forming and EMI was making things difficult so packed up for the day with 2 grams total. With each signal i played around with settings before i dug and found deep on the front cover in fine gold got the loudest signal and by a long way, i also had audio in boost which didnt help with the EMI and i could of put it in quiet but i can go back tomorrow. total nuggets so far is 60 for 27 grams Stu

What your finding now might be shallow but thrash it with your 18inch never know there might be a decent slug lodged deep down but a fair distance from where the small ones are
