Battery Voltage ?
What voltage reading do you get with a multimeter when checking the GPX Li-ion battery after it has been fully charged as my 5000 says 8.0v on its battery screen however my multimeter only reads 7.72v ?

Re: Battery Voltage ?
Use a higher scale on your multimeter and it should read 8v. The meter in the detector is just a guide...not all that well calibrated, and the 4500 and 55k share the same highest reading 8v+ th e4k reads the rest of the digits. 8.4v ect.however my multimeter only reads 7.72v ?

Thanks Narrawa but not sure what you are referring too above as the DCV section on my multimeter is number with 4 markings numbered as 2 , 20, 200 and 600. When checking battery voltages I switch the dial to the 20 mark which displays 0.00 on the multimeter's digital screen.

Re: Battery Voltage ?
Flick it to the 200 scale. Or.....try this.
There are two readings from the battery when testing it....the real voltage i believe is the higher of the two...probe the pins till you find another reading.
