Easter trip
Just got back from 3 glorious days in Sandstone, Paynesville and Mt Magnet.
Apart from lots of rain, plenty of mud and mountains of rusty tin, I got stuff all.
Well that's not quite true, I did get something and it's called a hangover this morning
Cheers

Re: Easter trip
I was really being a bit sarcastic about glorious days but it was good to get away from home for awhile.
I started out north of Sandstone about 50/60 k's up the Sandstone Wiluna road. the roads were closed on and off due to the rain and there was a lot of water about. muddy in places and the track in from the road was badly washed out in places. stayed a day but had to get out quick.
Did the tourist stuff, went to the beer cave and London bridge and had a poke around in an area south east of Sandstone but the rain was getting worse.
then headed for Mount Magnet but spent a little bit of time in the Paynesville area.
spent Saturday night in Magnet and the rain bucketed down. Sunday morning went to an area behind the airport for a poke around but found nothing.
a lot of the main gravel/dirt roads were closed and off road tracks we muddy and soft ground.
Probably head out there again end of April sometime and hopefully it will be dry.

Re: Easter trip
good to get away for a few days cliff. gold would be nice but never mind, next time.
there is a spot just north of magnet about 5 km out on a track heading east of the GNH.
some small shallow scrapes that looks untouched for years i dropped into on the way home last year. i only detected for a couple of hrs and pinged a couple of tiny bits so its still there.
good luck next trip.
we are heading off on Saturday for a trip down south to see family then off to Esperance for 4 days catching up with the daughter. from there we will head up and stay at Norseman for a day or two then catching up with Jase (UTBN) at kal for a few days working our way back home via Sandstone. first trip with the new Caravan so should identify any mods required b4 trip up to the Pilbarra.
cheers

Still getting over my jet lag lot's of Long driving buggers me now.
Forgot to say, I was out there with Mr and Mrs Gutfeeling, otherwise known as Warren and Deb.
Just a few pics and some you have all seen before, mostly the tourist crap but also some scenery. It was a good weekend away, but the weather was absolute shite. what you see as blue skies to start with only lasted a few hours.
Warren and Deb and Sandstone van park. If you have a WA Seniors Card it's cheap to stay at the park
