Yeah those Chinese copies are out already
I've seen those 3D printing machines in action. It takes no time at all to produce an exact to scale copy.

Re: So it starts, secondhand GPZ7000
Have given it a run inside the house tonight with no audio smoothing and sensitivity at 15 out of 20, and was amazed at how well it ran compared to a 5000.
Picked up my tiny round 0.3 gram test nugget at about 4 inches under the coil inside the house, got to be happy with that.
Wireless module is good, I moved away about 5 metres and it was still working fine !
Got a B & Z booster on order from Qld Sandy to run dual speakers from the wireless module. Like the idea of no cable to the detector !
Early testing will only be with the wireless module speaker, but its pretty good and you can sit it up on your straps close to your ear.
Have put a GPX neoprene arm cuff on it, fits really well and makes the arm cuff a lot more comfy. Why bloody Minelab didn't supply it as standard is beyond me !
Menu is easy to navigate, haven't had to re-read the manual.
Until tomorrow evening, stay tuned !

Sounds good Rick,
Tell me can you use the GPX headphones or only the ones supplied with the 7000
Also if you use your new B and Z booster and twin speakers do you still have to have the. Wireless module attached as well ?
Will have more questions for you so hope you don't mind !
Regards snapper

Headphones are identical to the GPX / GP series, Koss UR30 with a standard 1/4 inch jack, which can be plugged directly into the back of the detector or the wireless module.
B & Z can be plugged into the wireless module, or directly into the detector as well, but then you will be connected per the GPX series !
Love the idea of not being connected to the thing anymore !

Because he's going to sell a DVD. "Secrets of the GPZ 7000" or, the "GPZ 7000 revealed" or something along those lines. You can't blame him for playing it close to his chest. I'll probably buy it so bring it on JP.
Lots of guy will scoff at it, but if it helps you find that one extra gram, it's payed for itself and added to the learning curve.

Re: So it starts, secondhand GPZ7000
Lets see, the 5k video was $80
i'm thinkin the 7k one will be well over $100 goin by the high
market price on anything else 7k related.
IMO it will be a "must have" regardless of the $$ figure..

Re: So it starts, secondhand GPZ7000
Why would ya ??
At least give it time to learn the darned thing, could it be due to a bit of over marketing, and new owners then literally expecting to kill the pig in a week
But in sayin that, most good operators know within an hour if the new gear is
no where near as good or not even close to near the last model they had.
I missed the 2200/2200D release but did jump onto the GP Extreme release, and straight away i could feel the massive difference between the GP and my 2100.
Shouldnt the new buyers of the 7k feel at least that much improvement for their $10.700.
Right now i'd be happy to get out the house with me very trusted and proved 5k and dig some slugs, sick kids make for a very dull life god bless em.

Re: So it starts, secondhand GPZ7000
With regard to Minelab's marketing of the GPZ7000,i think it was all very mysterious and they didn't seem to make a huge hullabaloo about it's capabilities at all,a bit like the 2300,it sold itself-unlike the great marketing swindle that was the Garrett ATX.In my opinion, any hype surrounding the GPZ7000 was whipped up by the general metal detecting public,as was the price of the thing and Minelab priced it accordingly, plus a little premium on top.Comments?...

Re: So it starts, secondhand GPZ7000
Yup i'm with you Cloddhopper when it comes to forum hype possibly dictating what may before had been a much lower price.
Has been word of a big Vic nugget find, sposed to be on WIN news tonight, got the missus watching for it now, 7k nugget ?? who knows, but it is a bit early for Easter
Mysterious it definitely was, perhaps that's the new way ML will do releases in the future, but geez it's been a pain in the ars just to get 10% of the info prior to release than it has been in the past releases.

Yeah Pete, very unusual marketing, release and sales procedures. Think it was 87 ounces at Inglewood you are referring to.Does that mean we will be seeing less of our Victorian brothers and sisters here in the West this season?
