2300 v's the 5k
Have had a fair bit of feed back from those that venture out in this heat and most have reported that the 45 & 5k are a hand full at the moment however those who have a 2300 with them seem to be detecting without too much of a problem..
Although u cant see any clouds there is a heap of electrical activity in the atmosphere--and those spikes sound oh so good--

Re: 2300 v's the 5k
is that the sound ray makes or the detector Tom? i found the SDC way quieter with the lightning in Cue. at times the 5k was wewa=ing just about every 3rd wave. makes you stop a lot to check. the SDC did sound off on lightning every now and again but way less. i recon its to do with coil design and is apparently a major part of the new 6k design. shame they wont make the new coils to fit all the GPX series. probably eliminate 3rd party coil fitment too cornering the market.

surely it's possible that one of the third party coil makers will find a way of imitating the coils for the GPX detectors.
Or is it possible there is also something extra in the internal workings of the 2300.

Coils have always been a stupid price imo, for something shielded by paper covered in carbon paint.
