Try puting a film of 5 min araldite around the bottom leading edge...u can layer 1-3 layers on top of each other..
Make sure u dont glue the skid plate to the coil--coz u need to take the skid plate of every couple of weeks to keep the inside of the skid plate clean of fines..

To be sure take the skid plate off and then put the glue on--then re tape the skid plate to the coil..

let me know how u go..

This is a oxy-moron isn't it Ray? protect the bit you buy to protect the bit you swing, haha. What next, put a layer of silastic to protect the tape that protects the araldite that protects the skid plate to protect the coil. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Protecting a Skid Plate 3179412840

Now, having said all that, I do use silastic to prolong the lifespan of the humble skid plate cause I really give the things a workout, haha.
Oh, and I put 3, 5 cent size blob's of silastic around the coil and stick it on. It's still easy to get the skid plate off and lets you be a bit rougher and not have it fall off all the time.

Pfft forget the skid and just use a layer of PC7 2 part epoxy.
