New Years Eve Gold
Gidday Guys,
Got out yesterday morning for a few hours near Ararat and scored these 4 for 4.4 grams. Biggest bit 2.6 grams.
GPX 5000 and N/F 16 round mono did the trick.
Roll on our WA trip !
Cheers,
Rick

Re: New Years Eve Gold
You're right Jase, we are in a sense lucky. These were found only 10 minutes from home !
However, WA still has the best goldfields by a country mile, it's just that they are a fair way for most people !
Cheers,
Rick

10 mins crikey!!!
yeah gotta agree with you rick, wa has best goldfeilds in oz, not that i've experienced it for myself.
i've done 2 trips in the last couple months, 4.5hour drive each way and got less then what you have for a few hours swinging and a 10min drive.
mind you probably head out for another trip same area just to get the fix during the summer month's.
then when she starts cooling i'll be looking at a decent trip out leo or meeka way for a week or 2.get a tatse off the real goldfields off WA.

Gidday Pete,
See pics below, almost done.
Just waiting on a Furuno GPS unit from the US which will sit on the board behind the 2 x 27 watt CREE Led lights. Still to do the tie down points for the control box as well.
Box on the back holds everything for a day out from camp, including 2 kg gas cylinder, 2 burner stove, kettle, 5 litre water jug, detector batteries and chargers, and tins of baked beans !
Should do the job for us !
Cheers,
Rick
