Re: batterys
For your SD2200 detector (Standard Battery)
6V 12 Ah Gel Cell (10-12 hour Duration)
some people put a smaller 5Ah battery in for a lighter detector weight, but will have a reduced duration
some people upgrade theirs to a lithium Iron battery or a modified newer model minelab 8.6V Lithium Ion battery regulated back to 6V that has the bonus of an external speaker amplifier built in that charge faster and are lighter than the standard unit for a simular use duration.

Re: batterys
it comes down to how much they get used... some batterys they say 1000 charges .... it comes down to the age of the battery the size and the brand

Re: batterys
How longs a bit of string?
Li battery's when linked together rely on each cell having the same voltage! if one cell fades, the others go into overload trying to compensate and make up for the loser cells bad habits, won't be too long and they'l all give up. Geez there picky little suckers

Re: batterys
G'day Pip
In reality the 6v Gel Cell battery's are only good for roughly 4-5 hrs usage on a full charge,
they will run your detector for up to 8-9 hrs but with loss of Sensitivity and increased
ground noise and more EMI (Electro magnetic interference).
It is best to change over to a freshly charged battery at least once through a days swinging
to maintain full detector performance with no depth or sensitivity loss.
The Gel Cell type battery's have a shelf life of 3-4 years Max if looked after really good "ie"
never run totally flat and re charged before storing between trips out.
If you did get your battery with the detector i recommend you replace it straight away
with either a 6v 12ah or 6v 15ah from battery world (cheapest place to buy).
The GPX Li-Ion battery's are the bees knees but getting them converted down to 6v costs
around $500 all up with the new battery price inc, so they are out of the ball game for most
on a budget.
Best power bang for your buck is either one of the 2 aftermarket Li-Ion systems "Coiltek Pocket
Rocket" or Reeds "Lucky Lark" systems, both are High performance regulated battery systems
and will power your detector at full performance for a whole day..
