What should be my first mono coil?
G'day all, i have a GP extreme with an 11" DD and 18"DD. I have been looking into getting a small mono for a while and think i have come down to two choices.
Iam looking at both a Nugget Finder 8x6' Sadie Elliptical and a Solid Nugget Finder 14x9' Elliptical.
Would there be much difference in these coils? Or is one of these coils better suited to the extreme?

I have both mate, the small one is a bit noisy where i use it and the noises are harder to learn with it.
I have superglued the 14x9 on, and i doubt it will come off very often from now on. I have air tested both, and on a .2 to .3 the 14x9 is actually better on my extreme.
Theoretically it shouldnt be but it just is..

Thanks for that, looks like the 14x9 will be the winner then

Don't forget the 14x9 goldstalker ellip mono, I use one with my extreme. I find it an excellent coil and doubt I'll ever go back to DD's, coils that is.

Hmm more food for thaught Think iam more inclined to the solid coil tho, mainly cause the areas i detect in are not that clear so i could see any of the open design coils getting snagged a fair bit.

Mate some of the scrub i go in is like a jungle. And i have very little issues with snags. Dont let that put you off. I love the open coil. the scrub i play in is so think i have gone to a complete wireless set up just to get thru it.. Your curly cord will be more annoying than 1 or 2 snags a day on a stick...
