Re: sd 2200 coil
Mono without a doubt.
The 11" up to 16" Mono's run good on the 22 mate.
Up to you whether you go round or elliptical, personally i lean towards ellipticals, except i got the 11" round commander mono which is probably responsable for more gold than all other coils combined.

Re: sd 2200 coil
You will get a bit more ground noise on the 22 but the gold will scream
back at ya and be very distinct compared to the ground noises, have a look at this i did a while back also mate.

Re: sd 2200 coil
Based you choice on what size coils you already have Mike, no good getting a new one with the same size/depth capabilities.
On the 22000 you wanna try sharpen up the target response a bit as its not as sharp as the newer models, best way to do that is to choose an elliptical mono, also great for poking around under bushes where a lot of good gold still lives.
The 17x11 NF and 18x12 Coiltek are 2 good sizes, with probably the 17x11 NF Mono being the most popular coil on the market these days.
Both coils have appx the same surface area as a 14" round (17"x11" = 17" + 11" = 28" divided by 2 = 14")
Both coils are very light and very sensitive with great depth..
Hey Stay away from that naughty street while ya in Kal
