Found out that these are actually kids novelty magnets.
They're novelty items for kids (and kids at heart). Hold one in each hand and toss it up in the air so that they meet and see what they do :) They make a cool clickety clackety noise as they 'move' around trying to connect to each other. Those are so strong you can have one in your fist and the other will stick to the other side of your hand.
