Old Pubs in WA
Yes I have a fascination with pubs, specially the old or historical variety. Mt Palmer, south of Yellowdine in WA had a magnificent pub.
I've never been there yet but all that is left apparently is an arch. The story goes, that when the gold ran out (or so they thought) the pub was knocked down and the bricks and building materials were used to put up new buildings in Kalgoorlie.

Really loved Kookynie, some great relics and ruins of old pubs there. Here's a shot of the old Cosmopolitan Hotel back door. Think they were selling more than beer here.....

Have they still got them mongrel peacocks at Kookynie. Nearly sh*t me self having a Leak in the dunny. There was a panel missing from the ceiling and one of the sods used to get in the ceiling and wait for unsuspecting dunny customers.
One hell of a shreek and it was new undies time

Ora Banda. Top pub on a hot day but the buggers turn their fridges off at night and they should open earlier.

Talking about price of fuel, $1.90 litre at Paynes Find back in July. Hate to think what it is now.

Re: Old Pubs in WA
Hi Bignuggs Mrs Red Devil here. You mentioned there was a pic of the Lancefield/Beria pub somewhere. Is there any way I could get a copy to email to Canada, please? A Canadian friend is researching her family tree and her ancestor was a carpenter at the Lancefield mine. I would love to give her a pic to add to her collection. Thanks.

G'day G
This is not a WA pub either mate but it was a stop over for the old diggers on their way to Vic from sth oz,
the warden also issued sth Aus miners rights from there for the nearby Chapel Hill diggins (1852),
and it actualy looks a lot similar to the pub in your last link, great old stonework..

Re: Old Pubs in WA
I go to MT Palmer quite regularly for over night camps just to get away, the old pub is in Kal Westpac building(if westpac still in same spot been a few year since been to Kal) is the old pub brick by brick so the story go's, lot of fossickers go there for the Smokey quartes for jewellery making, salt lake is soft there have pulled few people out that should know better, be interesting if any one has found crystal gold in the lakes as the mine was very rich
