Was thinking about a new detector, But i can't go past my beloved 45 never in 10 years has it let me down and i got it second hand back then. still on the fence about 7&6s . lweg

Goldfish, I can relate to your comments about the reliability of the 4500. Both my brother and myself have had them for a good ten years and apart from replacing a couple of power cords, they have been trouble free.

This detector, particularly when coupled with a 12’’ round or 14’’ x 9’’ elliptical NF Evolution coil is still a very competitive machine. Sure, the Zed and 6000 have the edge on it, but that is only to be expected after many years of product development.

Last year I sold my 4500 and bought a 6000. There is a lot to like about the 6000, but for me its lightness and ease of use was a big factor.

Hi pebbles all great points you make will probely get a 6000 my wife and i both use 4500. The lightness of the 6 is a seller would still keep both 45 as back up ,Or the 6 proves it self . GLAD TOO SEE THERES SOME ONE OUT THERE thanks pebbles,
