New 4500

So a mate is about to get his first detector and is going for the GPX4500

Such a good offer on a New but Old machine

Now I just need to get some time off to take him out

Just another excuse to get out there

yeah mate $3300 new but only till end of the month then they jump up to $4100.
they come with a 15x12 mono.
kick in the nuts for anybody who has 1 they are trying to sell 2nd hand or for that matter any detector older then the 4500.
also the 5k will have to drop on the 2nd hand market but not as harshly as the older models.
to be honest they could be $1000 and i still cannot afford or justify the purchase off one and i make $100k+ / year.
and yes it makes me sick

Mate I would still be Hiring one if I hadn't found the 5+ oz bit that payed for it

Still I'm happy with the 4500 and with the Elite coil its even better

Ya gotta wonder what ML are gettin up too.
I guess it makes my old extreme now worth about $500.  Bugger that.
If the price of the 7000 comes down, I won't be the only one who isn't happy.

I'm keen to head out with someone with the 7000 and test any signal with the 4500 and the Elite coil

I am over impressed with the coil on the 4500 but unless I can test it you are just guessing it is close to the 7000

On my trip to Cue with Flying Kiwi we could not work any closer than about 30 Mtrs or the machine would pick the other up

Even with a auto tune we could not get rid of it

That makes me think it is a powerful coil in the open so I just wonder what it is pushing into the ground

Deet (nuggiedreamer) had the 5000 with the elite coil and the 7 has to be a fair way away or it does interfere with the 5000/elite.
As to what machine is the culprit for interference, well you really need to test it but I had to shut down the 7000.
I did ask Deet to wave his coil over a few holes but it was my boots causing the problem.
As to how deep the the elite coil goes, Deet maybe able to answer that question. From what I have seen, the 7000 will detect deep enuff.
I'll probably be going out again to the Quinns area maybe first or second week next month before the permit runs out unless I can get an extension.
