Salt lake
Hi guys pretty soon I will have the opportunity to detect on some salt lakes. I will be swinging a 5000 my question is what would be the best recommendation in coil size and brand?
Would I want a large coil for covering ground or something totally different??
All help appreciated.

Re: Salt lake
Probably going to need a anti interference coil. You can use your standard DD and try in salt timing i have tried the salts once but still found it noisy.
Good luck

Re: Salt lake
Thanks Martin, I have heard that. In this area there are two types of salt lake one is a traditional flat crusty lake. Then not far is another salt lake which is vast overgrown red dirt with lots of salt and pepper. It is classed as a salt lake, DD coil again?

Re: Salt lake
Try the mono on the salt and pepper ground and see how you go if too noisy then the DD will be the go. Monno is a better coil as you loose depth and sensitivity with a DD. Good hunting
