Hi Red
Whilst I don't own a 7000, I can inform you that the latest Gold Gem and Treasure magazine has a very informed unbias view of the machine by Paul Zorich.
Regards Ian

Re: WHO'S USING A GPZ 7000
As an owner of a 7000, here's my 2 bobs worth.
I don't like using it in High Yield, far too noisy for my liking so I run it in General Difficult. I can still pick up small targets down to .1 of a gram.
As for the weight issue, I got used to it but find after a couple of hours ya shoulder will feel it a bit.
I just use the harness as normal and I don't use the struts.
Cheers

Love it, Yeah, Can be a bit noisy, Yeah, It's a tad heavier than previous detectors, Did take some getting used to after the 5000, Would i go back to the 5000 permanently, Nope ! Done the up-date so looking forward to golding this season. Hear the new bigger coil is not too far away. ( same weight as the 14" by using special hollow wire )
Cheers

I love the zed. I spent about half the amount of time in the fields last season compared to previous but found twice the gold. The weight isn't an issue once you get the harness set up correctly. I was swinging it for 8 to 10 hours daily without any problems.

Re: WHO'S USING A GPZ 7000
who's using a GPZ7000 you say? well there's basically two main parties, those that paid $10700 and those that paid $9500, the former spewing and the latter laughing for having waited, do minelab give a fat rats ass ? , I suspect not

G'day Wayne, Yeah shite happens ! Can say i am very happy i had the Zed for last season, Found over twice the nugget tally that i usually find for the season. The Zed sure finds it !
Cheers
Ashley
P.S. I hear a Zed with discrimination is being developed, Bring it on Minelab ! Oh and can you release the larger and smaller coil options in a timely manner ( not asking much eh ! )

Re: WHO'S USING A GPZ 7000
I paid 9500 for mine second hand not long after its release last year so it don't bother me at all as to a price reduction. I got a tally of 4106 individual gold pieces last season so I'm still laughing bout that. I'm hoping the big coil is around the 4k mark myself. My opinion is no detector coupled with any type of coil comes close to zed.

:affraid:Crikey!!! 4106 pieces!, what would that tally up to in weight?, well done!, for those who have done well with the 7000 the price drop matters little, I always maintain the number of people seeking gold is not governed by the cost of the equipment but more so by the number of people who can live the lifestyle, part time or full time, sure it spikes when prices are lowered but the second-hand market also spikes shortly after G'day Ash, good to hear your doing well, discrimination you say eh.. WoohOoooooo doggie!!!!! we got some fine old junk areas that would love a good discriminating ................ now that would be true innovation.

Re: WHO'S USING A GPZ 7000
Picked up the 7000 and 2300 when they were on special last Xmas and so far have only used the 7000. Absolutely brilliant. I detect up in the Pilbara and due to the weather being so hot and muggy, I have only been visiting old patches close to Karratha. So far I have 42 gms in the kitty. These patches I'd gone over with the 5000 and 14" Coiltec Elite which is a great combination but the 7000 still found more gold.
I've got the harness set up the way UTBN suggests on his video and honestly I can swing it all day. Can't wait for the weather to break up here and get out more often because I know there's more gold waiting for me and my 7000.

In reference to this thread http://www.detectingwestaustraliangold.com/t5507-gpz7000-feedback
Why is it now that a year after the initial release of the machine have people changed their song about this machine. Quite frankly, from bad to great.
Is it the new software update, is it the fact that more people are understanding the machine or something else.
I am in the process of getting a 7000, but I have to sell my 2300 first.
