THE EUREKA STOCKADE least we forget Empty THE EUREKA STOCKADE least we forget

Post by martinjsto Tue 02 Dec 2014, 4:40 pm

tomorrow is the 160th anniversary of the Eureka stockade and not a word of it in our media. this event is one of the most significant in our history with men banding together and swearing allegiance under the southern cross resulting in 30 men loosing their lives to become the birthplace of Australian democracy. its time our pollies realize what made us who we are. Our kids are taught nothing of our history today and pretty much all of our immigrants wouldn't have a clue who was Peter lalor and James Scobie and where and how the term Digger originated.
shame pollies shame.

yep--I'll try to buy a eureka flag to replace the one that perished and hang it proudly over our office at home for all to see.

if anyone knows of a good manufacturer or supplier please let me know--the last one I had came compliments of the MUA.
