WARNING to everyone

I've said it before and I'll say it again.
It is assumed that only adults read this forum. That is not the case as we have been attacked previously by people whose younger children have been reading what we have here.
Be careful what you post, especially with the vid clips. Before you have a go at me, it's a constant struggle to watch what I put up myself.
I keep forgetting it's an open forum to all ages. I'll find a way of putting an age restriction on the forum.

A content warning is fine but if parents aren't watching, then we have problems.
Yes, I totally agree that parents should take responsibility but it doesn't always work and, it should bounce back at the parents. But I've still copped some "outrage" for what is posted.
I'll handle that bit, I 'm only asking that we all think twice before posting, especially with the youtube vidclips.
I don't think it's asking too much.

I agree Cliff, in the end it doesn't matter if you put warnings up, in fact the kids probably click the post with warnings first. better to not have inappropriate content posted in the first place. maybe if we had a restricted area where you have to have a certain rating or above to be able to view, or prove age to enter, is this possible?.

The only way to stop underage persons from reading what we have here is to make the date of birth compulsory or you won't be able to sign up and the registering process will not be complete for all new sign ups.  I checked that out last night and the sign up process was changed.
the problem with that bit is, you can lie about your age and put any date of birth you like.  So that was really a total waste of my time.  
asking for evidence of age would be too draconian and I wouldn't think of doing it.
I personally don't think a section for adults only material is an option but that's just my opinion.  and what would be considered appropriate for that section.
it all bounces back to being careful of what is posted and parents taking more responsibility about what their kids are reading or viewing.

I'll handle the complaints in my usual diplomatic style     I'm used to the abuse from irate people   

PS. I think we still have a members vid section, maybe youtube clips with adult content can go there. or maybe in the jokes section and we change the heading with a warning "Contains Adult Material".

To all parents of underage of 18yr old children.
All computers these days have a parental control function on them. ie Tools>internet options>content>parental controls.
There is a code required to access past this that only you can know.
Its quite simple really. But I agree and have been at fault of posting a music vid on here which is often played on the large juke box screen a my local pub for Christ sake.
And yes we also need to consider the ladies on the forum.

Adding to that it must be said that the Management and Mods on this site do a great job and should be given a "big thanks" for the job they do, so what ever you decide is no problem with me.

it was only an experiment to open it up but somethings cannot be said.

If there is a way to have a section that can't be accessed by young kids then that would be great, I think I would be very sad if I couldn't read those classic jokes etc.

it will be removed from the general viewing area and only registered members will be allowed to read it.
but as I've previously stated, anyone can sign up and the age restriction won't work.
so what it comes down to is this, if you let you underage kids read the forum, Keep them outa the jokes section.
I can't lock it. so to parents out there, take some responsibility.
