Post by carms Fri 03 May 2013, 4:12 pm

If anyone has any map or something with majority of the creek names could you please tell me where I can locate a copy or buy a copy from

Here's a couple of links you could try a search thru.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_watercourses_in_Western_Australia

http://www.landgate.wa.gov.au/corporate.nsf/web/History+of+River+Names

The WA Department of Water may also have something.

Carms,

Most creeks in the Goldfields aren't given a fixed name such as Kilkenny Creek, Beasley Creek, Station Creek etc. The reason being that they are often dry beds and don't even look like a watercourse. The lesser ones aren't named in any mapping nomenclature but are often given "localised" names by both black and white locals. They have thier own names for them. Best ask arounbd town?

Thanks Cat.....ill be asking someone shortly :)
& I think your right, I dont think this one ever flows or only after a massive downpour....I have the general location eg 3kms from so and so mountain etc ....but I don't have the bloody direction and of course there are watercourses in every direction and too wide a search area
thanks for all the info guys I appreciate it
