Pre Decimal Coins
Interesting post in the finds section with the old "threepence" piece.
I'm a creature of habit, I visit coin dealers. It never ceases to amaze me that people off load their old coins. So I've managed to gather a fair collection of pre decimal coins of varying vintage. I might not see them increase in value in my time but I can pass them on to someone who I know deserves them, family heirloom sort of. They will be the ones who get the value out of it, just hope they don't sell the collection.
As we all know, the value will increase with age. Ask a teenager today what a "zack or a deener" is, they look at ya like you have lost ya mind

Re: Pre Decimal Coins
G'day BigN,
Pre decimal coins are a good pursuit , collective when your not
Technically close to the Gold.
The old silver coins before about 1946 are 92.5% Silver and
The price will only go up . They can be found around older towns
anywhere where people gathered .

Re: Pre Decimal Coins
I used to love finding 'silvers'. Getting thin now though. The $1 and $2 dollar coins are worth picking up still. Still got heaps of silver and a box of pennies and like you Cliff, I just hang onto them. I used to average 10% silvers years ago which was quite a good ratio. Always got a kick out of finding old British florins etc.
