INTERNET CONNECTION PROBLEMS

There has been some big problems for internet users today. It appears if you are with iinet or Westnet you can't connect to the forums.
Why ? I have no idea but an email I have just received, said it could take up to a week to fix it. That's a joke and it's not funny.
It appears people can get anything they want on the internet but they are being blocked to certain sites.
If you know of anyone with these providers, spread the word, the problem is not with the forums.

nothing worse when the internet providers have problems... last time we had this problem it was for a week couldn't get into the internet what so ever...

Apparently the email function is still available but the connection gets lost somewhere to the internet/forums.
It's beyond my tech knowledge so I won't try to explain it.

if you have Bigpond there's no problems, not with my connection anyway.

i am with westnet, and the sites are now back on line, bit hard to know what is going on in the detecting world without the forums.

word around Kal at the moment a nugget worth over a million dollars found out Ora Banda way,

may be just another rumoure.

I have never had a problem with AFL sites Stu. been doing it for years. I doubt it's a bigpond problem.

yes westnet up and going, atleast it wasn't the week.
been loving the big nugget rumuors, whether there true or false.

Damn! I tried everything I could think of and ended up identifying that it was either my modem, the sites, or Westnet and more probably Westnet as I could get the site through Bigpond on my modem.
I emailed Westnet and got some lame answer back telling me to ping the forum site etc. etc. What I wanted from them was, "yes, we have a problem with those sites" or "yes, other people have the same issue" instead I got the same ol, same ol, "must be at your end"

Bloody hell the crazy bugger is back hahahaha.
It was with iinet and westnet who iinet own as well.
The website request was all good from your puter until it hit the states and it was getting blocked over there and couldnt get back to ghood old Oz.
Anyway i'm with iinet and all is well this morning..

Talking about Rumors - I hear Crazy Pete has such a whoppin hangover created by him not being able to get on the forum, word is that he slammed down 15 cans and a bottle of Bundy in his petulent attempt to calm the effen hell down after the internet jockeys wound him up. Ouch! my bloody head

This might help for those using Firefox....tools scroll down to Start Private Browsing. This should allow you onto sites that are blocked by professional ISP goons who have no idea how to fix said problems with accessing blocked sites.

For those with popup adds.....Google Adblock Plus and download it. Once downloaded, right click those adds that chafe your butt and block them from loading.....careful as overdoing things can block posters pictures from threads,and some important frames in winch you need to see....like banking stuff.

Adblock works well at speeding up your page load times due to the browser not loading heavy picture/moving advertisement. This advertisement is costing you money if your on a limited plan of x amount of gig download. Loading big pages is robbing you as each page is considered a download. Turning off alot of these pesky adds and large forum headers containing huge images, will speed you up noticably.

Firefox also has many speed tips available to also help improve performance....to many to list.

For those using Internet Explorer......i have nothing for you...i dont use it.
