Have you tested it to see if it does quieten the detector down?
I'm not doubting what you say but it would be great if you could elaborate a bit

hi Robert, no havent tested it, i just leave it on two, but after reading one of the posts, i think i may try it on zero, i will leave it up to GSGPX if he wants to identify the prospector but i doubt it, regards, gary

I have not tested it out either, but like gary after comments made I will be, although still finding .01 etc.

So let me get this straight, This setting is for a mono coil.
Do I leave the switch in mono mode and just turn the discriminator on on the back panel on my 4000?
Is this setting only for Extra noisy ground or bad EMI days?

hi gus, is for mono coil, run all settings as usual and put the discrim on 2, is not for emi or other noise but will help a little bit, but to queten down the electronics in the box in general, regards, gary
ps have a play and see what you think, if it does or not
