24K Gold Hunters Club
bit of an idea i have been kicking around,
A few years ago in the states there was a club setup where they arranged a dozer to push their claims, the pushes were then opened up to members to flog to their hearts content. was called 24K Gold Hunters Club
to make it happen:
need access to mining lease with deep nuggety ground maybe % cut to lease holder?
or arrange a SPL, arrange enviro imapact report etc
the steel to do the pushing
a body to pull it together and administer
Pros
100s of years of detecting experince on here including a few pros / ex pros who know the system and pitfalls
the chance to detect "virgin" ground and dig some real spuds!
most of the serious gold is now found on old patches reopend with a dozer
cons
suspisious diggers work alone and dont want to get burned
dont think it would ever be a money making scheme, more for sh#ts and giggles
but if the yanks can work it im sure we could
thoughts?

Re: 24K Gold Hunters Club
It's an excellent idea but gold does funny things to people and apart from known WA clubs who allows access to their leases (if you are a member), I don't see it ever happening but I'll get proved wrong by someone.
I've seen first hand this kind of set up. It was "salted" for the tourist trade. I've seen the result of a lease raided by "nightcrawlers".
Word gets around, you would need an armed guard on the lease to protect your set up and it's a bloody shame that it has to get to that point.

Re: 24K Gold Hunters Club
That would have to be the most all time annoying vid clip I have ever seen.
What a dipstick who cant pinpoint for sh!t. Blind freddy could tell the target was on the right side of the hole.
AHHH.....rant over
The best bit was when He dug through the red clay to expose that thin layer of grey clay sitting on the bedrock. I know a few places exactly like that.
All up I think its an unworkable idea for Australia. Too many lowlifes around the goldfields who would poach the hell out of it once word hit the Grapevine. Which is a bloody shame really, because it would be great for us Eastern state DWAG members who have no idea about West Oz.
