Birdshot Empty Birdshot

Post by TROT Sat 31 Oct 2020, 8:57 am

Hi hunters and Collectors, I've only been doing this detecting thing for 2 months and have done the gold fields route over 4weeks with no luck. I use a Gm1000, but this Birdshot that seems to be every where is it put around to confuse your signals and the novices. Are you best to get permission from pigged area owner to increase your chances of finding the Yellow stuff.

Any advice appreciate.
good hunting

The GM is a VLF which means hard work.
Its going to be noisy and confusing to use in any mineralised area ie:good areas.
That birdshot your getting on the surface is about the depth performance you can expect from the 1000. It means your in good areas though becase unfortunately people like to shoot up old patches. I would look at getting yourself a pulse induction detector if you actually want to find something.

Minelab make them
Anything from the SD/GP/GPX series
Get a good flat wound coil to match it and keep digging!
