Trip in the making
Just starting to organised my first trip for the season
Got one from the forum ready to meet up and smash a old patch that Crazy Pete and I nick named the Hangover Patch
I have been wanting to get back there for the last two seasons but have never been able to make it
I don't know about others but before the first trip for the season I sit and read the Manual for the detector
I have done this every season and in the early days I would read it before every trip
Any way I would be keen to know how many are getting ready or are out there enjoying the camp fire and the Gold

Re: Trip in the making
Geeez,, Peaky, your not the only one champin at the bit.
We just about ready to head off, end of month, couple of minor details with some opal ground then heading to Tennant Creek for a look see then the back of Halls Creek as a longer term destination. (hint, any ideas most appreciated).
Very much looking towards a drier winter, the last 3 in the Southern goldfields bloody wet, cold and windy.
When all else fails, Quandong Point, a long spinner cast for a queenie or maybe a mackerel.
Don't mind which, both good on the grill.
Whatever, WA winter is a good spot for us, just have to avoid those bloody Eastern Nomads!!!
Mike

Re: Trip in the making
ANZAC weekend may be on the cards, but I want to get one of those new 14" stealth coils 1st before I head out.
Would be good to know where some of you guys are to drop in and say G'day or give a hand on the shovel dry blowing or help patch hunt with my 5K for a stint to deserve a cold beer at camp afterwards (PM me if you feel inclined).
I'm not that keen going on my own so sitting at home procrastinating. Dunno if I'm in the good books with Cloggsy at the moment, so I might just need to save up and book a tour that'll let me take the dog that loves going bush more than me chasing massive bush chicken and Big Red rabbits, any recommendations?

Re: Trip in the making
hey Pete.
Sorry about not goin SE to pick youse up when were goin NW to get to the gold (yeah, what gold??)
But thanks for the clue, that HC area has already been clocked in.
Looking at the geo maps, that country is bloody unreal.
First off though, Tennant Creek. A mate who lived/worked a long time there dropped in with some top info this arvo.
He said look at all the stuff then ask the questions. And I suspect he is going to have good answers.
For a trip like this I reckon I should put new batteries in the old ML Goldseekers 15000
Then its all up to us.

Re: Trip in the making
Hahahaha now now
I Did say they were EXTRA - ORDINARY rain prediction skills
Hey Cliff It's not as if a massive windy storm that sounds like an oncoming steam train is hard to predict
when ya could see the leaves gettin stripped off the trees half a klick away as it approached us
Then there was this mad pommy bloke, lightening strikes within a few hundred feet and Peaky and me run past
him, detectors held low and yelled at him "Hold that detector down low and get the hell back to the truck "
His answer was "Why ?
Ahhhhh ya gotta love the bush with mates and gold.
Pete
