quad bike maintanence
well its the quiet part of the year and its a good time to give yah quad a xmas present.
change the oil--if u have a 4l sucker then this gadget makes life easy for those that cant undo a drain plug beneath the motor of yah quad
if its chain drive then a generous lick of chain lube goes a long way to keeping things rolling.
if u haven't started the quad for 4 months or so then drain the fuel out and get some CARBY CLEANER and give the carby a good dose to get the stail fuel out of the carby and the jets.
a few bikes have a couple of grease nipples--give them a quick squirt--generally these parts are break em throw em..
check wheel bearings spin the wheels and make sure they are running free and u cant hear the bearing humming or groaning away.
keep the battery toped up with a trickle charge and leave disconnected as the bike will drain your battery.
clean the air filter and or replace the cartridge with a genuine one--they fit .
tyre pressures should be about 6-12psi.
check the wheel alignment of the front tyres with the alignment of the back two and if need b adjust.
re cover that worn and split seat..
if u have diffs then change the oil a bit of TLC pays dividends in the long run.
have fun.

Re: quad bike maintanence
...or send it to your local mechanic to forget the headache of doing all yourself for the cost of a nuggie or 2

Re: quad bike maintanence
Great advice oneday, regular maintenance is generally far cheaper in the long run AND a lot less troublesome.
Same goes for all your gear.
