Re: Sunday walk
interesting read from another forum here GoldieWA. looks like some shafts were sunk around North Dandalup. history of scams in the area, salting and such. he has a you tube vid of visiting the site, they did dig some holes for something. if you have time up your sleeve why not, its only a few hrs away at most and the history is worth the visit. all held by Alcoa for Bauxite so should be able to get permission for a swing if you drop into their HO and if you so desired. dont know ifany gold was found there or if the gold found was very fine so nuggets may not be there, maybe take a pan. good hunting.

I totally agree Goldie, we are a friendly forum but the bunch of mongrels won't tell us where X is
Keep ya filthy gold, I don't wanna know where it is, I'll find my own

Thanks Martin for that information, much appreciated, will check out that forum and have a read. I have been researching another couple of areas in a different location to North Dandalup, going to go up there and check out when I have a free weekend.

Re: Sunday walk
very few pics i've seen here contain such info. yes having location service active on devices can embed data that could show gps co ordinates and other info on vids and pics but either we're all on to it or it isn't happening much. irfanview shows exif data if available and even if it is it doesn't always show co ordinates of the pic.
Im not saying it isn't possible to extract the info but with very limited success I can't see it being worth the time and besides, i would rather be out swinging a coil looking for my own spot than trying to find some other fellers hard found patch that he recently hammered.

Re: Sunday walk
In the spirits of keeping things interesting, I'm pretty sure I've been to this "Local Area"
My research told me the old timers use to sluice in the winter months, and not to far from said location "fairly recent times" someone stumbled across a little patch out there in one of the numerous gulleys that dot the area.
There is some old shafts and which have since been filled right on the edge of the main water course, and small scrappings, last time i was out there i got covered in pepper ticks.
I was collecting samples to pan, only got a few colours.
