Re: Where's the biggies
Geez Paddy! Gold is gold mate. Most folks wouldn't find 200 bits in a lifetime.
If you're so worried about finding all the tiddlers, let me come along and relieve you of them.
I think we're stuck with the littlies now mate. Maybe the biggies are down below 30" but I have enough trouble digging a foot now.

Re: Where's the biggies
just got to walk over them bro
looks like you are setup to ping the small ones, what size coil you running?
maybe slap on a 18in plus round coil and max out your machine for more depth on the big stuff

Re: Where's the biggies
Hi guys
Thanks for the replies and advice
Might be time to stop using the little coil and
start using the 11 and 16 round coils in the future

Re: Where's the biggies
Paddy thats a nice haul of little un's....I'm sure the 11" would still sniff them out too and with better chance of hearin the deeper ones, if there are any left out there.
Coil size should be selected by the ground depth you are searching, obviously you are doing a great job with that detector you are using....If you walk over one in range of that coil you will score it no problems!

Re: Where's the biggies
Paddy whack the 11" mono on m8. If there's abig one down there it'll find it.
I found a scout buckle at a measured 28"(I have marked etched on my pick at 2" intervals)using a 12" NFA mono. I went thru 15" of pushed wash, 6" of topsoil, another 4" of natural wash and there it was a further 3" down in red clay. You can believe I thought it was at least a 5 ounce nugget.
I've dug lots of other targets at 12" a better with the same coil.

Re: Where's the biggies
Nice work Paddy.
Time to man up though mate and get out the big coils like a 24inch eliptical or 22 inch round.
Remember, there is no such thing as a small gold only field.
Ditch the bungy as what dosent kill you will only make you stronger
