Re: long weekend in the west
Hi All,
Just came back from Meeka and we havn't seen so much water alongside the road before but Nallan lake was still fairly dry, green grass alongside road verges and lake Austin half full
Definitely do not need any more water up there, we noticed a phenomenum when the thunderstorm clouds were rolling thru that it started to drizzle and all the clouds burst and the sky totally greyed out and then it started pooring down, we were swimming sitting on top of the hill so I don't recommend setting up camp in lowly places
Cheers ,Ron

Re: long weekend in the west
We decided to go look at some property as were keen to get another investment for retirement , I like the Gascoyne region and I like the warmer weather now so for the weekend we are going for a look at some in Kalbarri and we will end up in Mt Magnet by Saturday staying in the park, I dont know the area well but might drive out towards Sandstone 20 to 40k and see whats ground is around for a day trip and a swing with the missus. say hello if you see the white Pajero out there and good luck to everyone having a go.
ps anyone know any history of the 100 yr old house 4 sale in Mt Magnet?

Re: long weekend in the west
The guys at Wondinong station have a great accomodation setup behind the homestead in the shearers quarters ,really good clean dongers ,kitchen ,shower etc,if you want to stay out of Magnet and thats already halfway to sandstone about 16 km off the main road and just to the northern edge of Payneville-we stayed there a few years ago with the old owners and it was excellent-not that theres anything wrong with Magnet but it sure does get noisy, some very thirsty people live in that town-dragon
