FILM STARS WANTED

For all you George Clooney and Pamela Anderson detectorists out there, here's something you may be interested in.

I've been contacted by a film production company who are going to make a television series for National Geographic.

They are looking for people who are or will be out in the Kalgoorlie area.  They tell me they are prepared to go as far as Ora Banda, so you may also be looking at the Coolgardie area possibly and East of Kal.
I get the impression they may prefer people who are retired or maybe not.

NOTE:  the forum is in no way directly or indirectly involved with this project and if you choose to participate, it will be a personal arrangement between yourself and the production outfit.

we don't have T shirts but we do have caps and can holders but not sure if they would allow advertising.

been contacted many times by possibly the same crew based in Perth, they check out ok "after super sluething" but i get the feelin they want free info and thats all...

G'day, nah they definitely after a few people to put together a show and are very genuine.

If they are genuine then it would be a great oppurtunity for those who have time ( no dates noted) to show others that us genuine prospectors do do the right thing with regards to our search for the yellow metal. I'm talking of getting the right permissions, notifying the pastrolist, doing the right thing with camping and filling your holes. Would be good promotion.

Pity I have to go back to work Monday, may have been interested.

are Cliff , Cloonies & Pammys here , I don't think so , national geographic , don't think that's our stuff ,all tho I like polar bears . Probly if SBS did a stint on AUSTRALIAN BOGAN GOLD HUNTERS we would go it like crazy Pete up the drain pipe , yeeha with Kenny on the cornflakes n all .

after watching many of the US program's about gold, I always thought a Australian show on prospecting would be great.

well young lady--TV Researcher-- can u let us know what the heck u r chasing to promote in your doco..

is it along the lines of the yank shows--a heap of Hollywood and not much guts--

I think that is the least u can do--get some of the buggers excited  otherwise u might leave short changed.

look forward to your spill--How much is going to be scripted--something like MKR's--that was a jock. Even the Hoffmans in the Klondike --now that was a bigger jock and that's ultimately what put the vast majority of viewers off the show.

sounds like it could be a lot of fun, just as long as it doesn't cut in to ya swing time too much. lookin forward to the show when it comes out though.

I love detecting, but there are a few shows on Foxtel already, and man are they boring .

The only way to make the shows half decent , is to dramatize them.

We are looking for detectorists currently (or soon to be) operating in and around the Kalgoorlie goldfields. You don't have to be a local.

Ideally you are prospecting with a partner/spouse and would be happy to share your experiences on camera............but don't worry we are aware that there are some security/confidentiality issues around gold hunting!

mr P would be the bloke , hes gotta rid himself of the hi vis workwear tho , cant detect on the haul roads  & go back to the ol blue shirts & look like a prospector , the Russel coit hats fine I reckon , but you've gotta master the wink & turn you head the right way whilst doing it , could never remember that bit myself & make sure ya do the double click click afterwards as well & yool be fine mate .

I reckon the next dewag gathering in the bush for that sort of thing would have to be as good as it gets , the whole package in one hit ... for free ..... the once a year gathering of the WA gold bogans would be a terrific doco.
Featuring Crazy Pete doing the SA guest appearance would be a must also ,Cliff goin on the bagpipes rockin up the track to camp on sunset .... ar the possibilities are immense , albo.
