Re: best way to catch Red Claw??
well went searching for those elusive red claw and low and behold we found them--well theres that many in there that it would be hard not to get a feed.
We used boiled spuds--broccoli--chook pellets and a dash of crushed garlic..we had a rockmelon but we ate the bloody thing and forgot all about it--anyhow the buggers had enough to feed on I reckon..
got there about 2pm and baited the pots and we got excited and pulled them about 6,30pm--heap of little ones..
Left it till we had a few more beers and a leg of lamb on a spit then the boys done another haul--this time the size had trebled and a good haul ensured--they appear to start moving about, once that sun goes down the other problem we thought we might have and that was it was a full moon but no they kept coming until we cleaned up in the morning and all up for our first attempt we bagged about 15 litres of red claw..
planning the next trip in the same area but not the same spot.
