Increase flood control to about 30-40 seconds between posts...or longer.? = spamming Fixed.

Thanks Narrawa, the bloody thing was turned off, it ain't now.
everyone will find a bit of a wait before your posts appear in the forum.
It'll change once the dork has stopped his games.

Taking note of the times between each of his posts...the same thing happened on the freeforum a few weeks/months back. How they do it is open each thread/post to be spammed in a new window....Copy past to each and hit the send button once they've had enough.
When the flood control is opened up, they have to wait that period before the next post is allowed..If that wait time is about 1minute, they become either, bored of dedicated to the cause.

Another way is to disallow first post/s until admin has checked it. This way if their selling Viagra...you can simply just ban them and the horse they rode in on.

Last week I changed it so there is no auto sign up anymore.  I now get 2 emails.
First one, I can check out the username and email address
second one is to activate the account
it doesn't really give any protection from idiots.
I found the flood control had been turned off (I must have done that) has now been reset to 10 minutes, a bit much I know but I'll check out the first post option for new members.
all in all, it's been an interesting day
