GRAVE SITE'S Empty GRAVE SITE'S

Post by onthisharvestmoon Sat 08 Feb 2014, 7:12 pm

G'day All
Out for a swing today and came across a grave site , absolutely in the most unusual place on the side of an outcrop of quartz and iron . How would I find out who this couple were and what they did and why they are buried where they are.
Now im not morbid or a religious person (I did say a pray and asked them to look over me while I was in the bush ) but it would be interesting to know .

How in god's name do ya upload a photo

if you open the general chat section, there's a post at the top of page on how to post pics or vids.
depending on how old the grave site is, there are several internet sites where you can search.
get the photo posted and I 'll see if I can help with it.

maybe check with the historical society in port hedland--they may have a finger on the pulse or with the police in sth hedland --they may even know of the graves.

Seems Robert Edkins moved around a bit until he got married.

electoral rolls
1906 - single man - station hand on De Grey station
1925 - single man - Indee station - grazier

by 1936 he got married to Marian and they are on Indee station.

G'day

Mr Edkins and his brother were the first owners of Indee station , After Boodarrie station was sub divided into 4 lots Boodarrie Station, Wallareenya Station, Indee Station and cant remember the other , Shite must of been a bloody big paddock back then , Had a cuppa with Collin , the current lease holder this morning , Terry's correct Collin's been there 52 years . Tough man .
