music for the bush--wanted
OK folks heres a request with a twist--I'm lookin for mainly country / alternative / creedance and the likes with a bit of Kevin bloody Wilson and the likes as music for the detecting season this coming year so if there is any of u who have a heap of music on a USB stick I would be gratefull for a copy--i'll pay for the stick or I will copy and send back the stick.
My appreciation and thanks goes to cliff for being the first cab of the rank..the old bugger does have a taste for good music..
what I would like to eventually do is to copy all the music on one usb stick and make it available to all members--that's if u think that's a good idea--and we might even ask for a donation towards a charity such as the RFDS as a sign of good will..just an idea folks..
all ya thoughts are welcome...try to keep them positive..
regards

Ya gotta be kidding me, I sent ya near 400 songs of all descriptions
Don't tell me ya have listened to all of them.
almost forgot to mention, be careful distributing music, it could violate copyright law

Ray,
There is a way to download your own music from Youtube and convert it to MP3 and save it to a stick because it is for your own personal use copyright shouldn't be a problem. Don't sell any copies.
First of all open this; http://www.youtube-mp3.org/ Leave it open on your desk top.
Then open YouTube; https://www.google.com.au/#q=youtube
Click - Music
In "Search" at top of page type in the artists name eg: Kevin Bloody Wilson
Select a song from RH side of page; eg: Living next door to Alan.
Highlight the link in the search bar at top of page. In this instance it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=az4dpotbSYs
Right click it and click "copy"
Now go back to your youtube -mp3 link highlight the link that is already there.
Right click and paste the above link.
Click "convert"
A few seconds later it will be done.
Click "download" and you have it as a MP3 song that you can save to your music file.

Thank you for posting those instructions. There is a wealth of music available on YouTube but I’ve never been quite sure how to download it in MP3 format.
I like being able to make a recording of those old, often one off, songs of yesteryear (eg Barry McGuire-Eve of Destruction).
Here are a couple of sites that may be of interest:

While on the subject of "Mad bastards", here's one from Greg Tait himself, who signed my copy of the movie for me, as I worked with him for a couple of years at Argyle. He is in person a lot like he is in the movie and a real top Kimberley fulla.

Re: music for the bush--wanted
Well this tells a story from a referendum, Personally, I preferred Waltzing Matilda.
21 May 1977
(3) National Song
Question
Against the background that 'GOD SAVE THE QUEEN' is the NATIONAL ANTHEM to be played on Regal and Vice Regal occasions, electors may indicate their preferences as to which of the tunes of the songs listed below they would prefer to be played on other occasions.
The National Song Poll was held in 1977 by the Fraser Government to find a national song. Until 1974 God Save the Queen/King was Australia's national anthem. The Whitlam Government, following the result of a public opinion poll conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statistics in February 1974, changed the anthem to Advance Australia Fair, except on specifically royal occasions. In January 1976, the Fraser Government reinstated the use of God Save the Queen for royal, vice-regal, defence and loyal toast occasions, and decided to find a national song for use on ceremonial occasions when it was necessary to mark a separate Australian identity. Advance Australia Fair won the National Song Poll.
