I headed out yesterday for a swing with my normal prospecting offsider and another mate whos been keen to get into detecting for a while and only just splurged on a GP extreme. It was actually his first day out with it and he bagged himself this nice liitle 5 grammer.

And heres the man in action.

Unfortunately the 'newby' showed us up and no other gold was found Mad

We are planning to head back soon(maybe this weekend) and give the area a thorough going over, hopefully my mate will leave me few bits Laughing

Nice going mate, good to see the GP Extreme can still find them.
I cut my teeth on one of the early Extremes in 2001. Nice and very capable machine ! Very Happy
Cheers,
Rick

Ha ha-love the whipper snipper pic, ive thought many times about doing that. The stuff is fricken horrible, i normally need to pick a few bits out of my shins (yes it goes through your pants occaisionally), i also wear gloves now aswell-sick of getting it in my fingers. Thats why its always nice when a lightning strike amazingly burns out a gold bearing area Wink

After a while you don't even notice that the spinifex is around, I like detecting in spinifex and at the end of the day your shins are covered in little blood spots and even a few weeks later you are still pulling the tips out of ya legs, if you ain't getting spiked by the spinni you ain't looking hard enough.
