yeah im in Kalgoorlie, and yes i know a few places where i could make them "disappear".
its hard thinking im not worthy of another detector because of my foolish mistake....i just love it so much that it hurts, and i dont think i could bear not owning a detector.....it will also be hard to leave this place behind after all the things i have learnt and picked up from all you guys....
ill be back in action, but i may need to sell a quad bike Sad Sad
anyone interested? lol.....

STOLEN DETECTORS! Empty Re : Stoled tectas

Post by Yibidavid Tue 08 Jan 2013, 3:20 pm

So sorry to hear that man- - Low lifes every where. Not that this will help, but I heard about a year back someone had their brand new tecta stolen out of their car while the owner was inside a shop buying some tucker.Sure don't take long to flog something if they see & want it! If you leave your tecta in your car( like most of us do) ALWAYS cover it up with a towel or blanket, at least the thieves wont know what ya got. Also just thought about insuring our tectas- if possible, certainly worth it . Good luck anyhow Delapan

Sorry about the name, ofcourse I meant Goldpan. While I'm here, was wondering if one can get contents insurance for our cars? . I bet we can't, rip off insurance companys get us for almost everything , yet where it really counts we've got buckleys. Certainly is a corrupt system we've got in this country STOLEN DETECTORS! 729094268

i spoke to the insurance company and was honest about the situation and they were helpfull, but said that detectors werent classified as personal objects like a wallet or handbag Sad pretty convenient....for them.
i said i was just hoping they would help me but, no....

Lost them in Kal. They'll be hard to find now but maybe the local "camps" would be a good start. Insurance, not sure about vehicles but I do know I have to add them to my home and contents. They aren't classed as standard household goods.
Hope ya get your gear back man.

Probly of no help here and sorry for your situation, but out of coincidence I saw a setup being sold in hedland,-again probly legit, but got me thinking you should itemise your setups for us, just maybe of some interest to whoever may stumble upon ads like these?

Good luck

well unfortunately nothing has been seen or heard of the detectors in the last 48 so im sure i have lost them for good now, such an idiot.
but on the bright side, my partner in crime has come up with some capital so we should be up and running again shortly, possibly with some upgrades.
the first thing i will do is call the insurance company....lesson learnt, and taught.
thanks all for the kind words and hopefully one day i run into this tugger out bush.

Most insurance companies will tag your detector onto your home contents policy but make sure you tell them that it's stored at home but taken out of home for extended periods and they cover it out bush or in ya car whatever..
