"Tassie Gold" Yeah ha. (Pic added)
Hi All
My goal for Tassie prospecting (to find a few specks) was acheived on Monday thanks to Phillip (from the Tas Prospecting forum) who I met in Ulverstone I jumped in his car & off we headed to "Doctors Rocks" panning on the seafront was the order for the next couple of hours, I can tell you that panning on the foreshore a short walk from the main road is a very strange concept indeed.
Just after we arrived, Phillip put on his waders (oh crap I thought ) I was wearing jeans, a short walk & we were down at the rocks, there was a local down there panning so we had a quick chat, this bloke was really good & gave us a run down on what to do, we could see where the others had been digging so we each picked a spot & started clearing it to clay base then shovelled the loose material in to a pan.
The very first pan gave up a good little picker for me so my goal of taking home some "Tassie Gold" was allready acheived, I got a few more little bits & the friendly local I mentioned earlier, tipped his morning takings into my pan & said there ya go take a bit more home, "Thanks Mate".
I will add some pics when I have taken some.
Thanks Phillip
cheers
Lee

Gold is Gold no matter how small and it mounts up. Got me thinking about some of the rivers in the north of WA where they hit the sea.
Maybe you Pilbara guys should check it out, if ya haven't done it already.
