Good Fridge

First topic message reminder :

Looking to get a good fridge for the bush, any ideas as to reliability and best bang for the buck. :?:

I can't believe you guys just don't make your own esky? No power required, Nothing to go wrong! No comparison to shop shit!
Knock one up in a weekend for less than a hundred bucks.

Kept out of direct sunshine, you will still have ice after 2 weeks, Thats WA Sunshine mid summer with a lid that has a hard time staying shut

Best part, You can make it any shape you like, to fit it where ever you want! Or is ice to expensive?

Here is an update on my latest outing over the long weekend here in Vic, before I left I plugged it into 240v and froze the shit out of it.......turned the temp up to 3 c and the fridge did not miss a beat for the 3 days of solid detecting....I tihnk I have found the key....chill then serve

Surprised it wasn't boiling, getting beat every day for 3 days a fridge that likes it rough, not fridge at all

I have done esky's for the last 30 years...all I can say is why would ya want a fucking esky when ya can have a fridge? have ya got a fridge in ya kitchen? handy ay!!!!

P.S. it didn't miss a beat...not miss a beating....I am a hard mother F***** if it was a beating I gave it it would not have survived the first 3 hours with me

Owned a property where we lived with NO power for 10 years! Our gas freezer shit itself with more than 200kg of meat, couldn't afford to replace it at the time, so I knocked up a classic WA esky, I started buying a bag of ice on my way home from work, that lasted 2 days because there was no room for any more ice!
Esky's ain't esky's until you build a real one.

I currently own both the trailblazer & evakool fridge/freezers .
The trailblazer is a 45 ltr & has graced my presence for 14 yrs without a problem ... The evakool is a 80 ltr & is 3 yrs old - fantastic unit . Both are Aussie made for aussie conditions . On extended trips out bush i use the trailblazer as my fridge & the evakool as my freezer ...

In regards to 12 v fridges , seen mates try them all , waekos, engels[ grey ones not the bullet proof old yellow ones ] etc all shite the tin , so they do it again, get another ,a year later same thing in the middle of a trip.. hot stubbies etc

My trusty old qld made 80litre trailblaizer fridge is solid as a rock in construction, thick insullation , good on watts, 15 years old & keeps churning out super cold beer, love my fridge.
