Got a niece in melb who found a wallet then realized there was big bills all over the joint, she gathered up 1200 bucks an handed into the cops!

Happened to me once in Ballarat around 1982. Walking down the street with my mrs and people running everywhere grabbing notes. I asked who it belonged to and they replied "who cares" I picked up around $20.00 and could not locate the owner but others had fistfulls of cash. There was no mention of it in the papers or TV so that $20 sat on the fridge for months until we needed some milk or something.

I found a briefcase on a beach on an island we lived on in Qld back in the late '80's. No cops on the island so I gently pried it open. Full of personal stuff like bank books and a passport.It belonged to a mate who lived up the road. He travelled to the mainland in his powerboat. I took it back to him but nobody was home so I left it on his doorstep. He tried to find out for months who returned it. When we left the island I told him and he called me every name under the sun then thanked me . He said he left it on the boat's transom and when he took off the briefcase plopped into the drink.

There I was thinking "this has gotta be fulla drug money...YIPPEE!!! :rolf:

Robert, that reminds me of a briefcase I found buried on the beach in Mooloolaba years ago. I rang the police and they came and collected it. It belonged to a businessman and had been stolen.
