Hey Speciman, just hope that cyclone isn't too big cause Karratha might be on red alert soon? Was in Hedland 1984, we had a red alert also, I managed to check the seashore before hiding under shelter. No bull the sealevel almost reached the road which was 6 metres higher till it passed through. I even taped the wailing wind onto the old tape recorder which I still have somewhere, unbelievable. I hope your quadbike doesn't get bogged ? with all that rain about, be safe! cheers David

Hey pilbaragold, if that Avatar is your real accomodation( a container?) then I think your are pretty safe, those things weigh a few tons, maybe an Atom bomb might dent it but not much else, seriously good luck man, don't forget NAB cup tonight if you can get it, I'm backing West Coast in a close one against the crows, cheers from an ex pilbara guy ( Porthedland 1984-86) Mt Newman mining. Hi Yibi,
The avatar is part of a Blue Streak rocket I came across while flying in a chopper. It's out in the Georgina Basin in the NT.We have 3 sea containers on site plus there's also some adits to shelter in if we have to.
The camp is built good a strong so the main concern is flooding. Loader is at the ready.

Thanks mate, will do.

Its kinda weird how quiet it is now, very little wind or rain presently. Will see what happens over the next couple of hours.

All clear now north of Meeka. No wind just misty drizzle 2.5inches yesterday. Looks like Belfour Downs copped a flogging.

Hi Pilbarachad, glad the coast is clear for you. It's a wonder the state government didn't offer you a tidy sum- reward for your rocket remains, maybe the yanks would if it's one of theirs & they knew about it? If you don't mind me asking- are you working for a mining co or are you doing your own private gold prospecting, cheers Yibi
