Ideas/photos of your toyota bush camper

Price of gas in the US is skyrocketing…… so

I got a good deal on a 97 toyota tacoma and want to remove the pickup bed and make a bush camper. I still want to haul a quad and 2 weeks of food/water.
I've seen a few photos of your rigs and WANT MORE! :)
I just wish we could get the diesel here.

Its called a Hulix in OZ maybe.

It's in my neighbors garage he has a sweet setup and donated space for the build.

All I have so far is pic's of the blown motor.

I'm in the process of finishing off a toyota troopy...
has cupboards and storage right up to the front seat;
winch..u could pull a truck out with..
roof rack..spotties..bull bar
spare wheels--diesel motor rebuilt--long range tanks
H/D suspension--2 way radio --am/fm radio
all panels are straight

new tyres and rims goin on shortly--235/85r16 10ply

Went 2 take a few snappy shots but the batteries in the camera shit themselves.
Must have to use special batteries coz it didnt like those $2 batteries from red dot..
I'll try again tomorrow with heavy duty mongrels--hopefully that should kick it the guts.

You mentioned 10 ply tyres mate.
What brand are they and do you still use split rims?
I guess you being a tyre dealer you should know all about that stuff.

Yes I still use splits up here in Ktown because the country we go into is absolutely unforgivin.
The 10 ply tyres can go on a solid rim. 235/85r16lt--10ply tubeless. this is the max ply rating u can get ona solid rim. Brand = Triangle... cheap and versitile
I personally use 7.50-16... 14ply min on split rims..simply due to the country we traverse.

I'm surprised you use splits on light trucks.

Bead locks are the way yo go these days.

sure u can not use them on tube tyres.
tyres we use r rags not radials
bead lockers are great for people who have a problem with popping the bead of the rim.
at 5-15ks per hour we dont have and never had that problem.

Ya the beads are popular with the rock crawlers and racers.

I like them for running ultra low tire pressure 5 lb and less.

Ever set the bead by using ether (starting fluid)?

we have a 100psi tank with a canon on the end--works every time.
