How Was Your Sunday

I've had a real good day today, didnt go swingin or the pub

But spent the day doin some research and boy did i find some gold, have found an area
thats given up some weighty gold, hasn't been Dozed and is on Totally free ground (no lease of any type)
and has never been leased or pegged in WA Mining history

I was able to find this area by researching on an overseas Historical society web site and old church records, one
of the sources had a digital copy of his hand written journal of his find with a hand drawn map of the patch
and the exact distance to the nearest topographical points of interest (wells & mountains etc).

Next i got on google earth and the LandGate map viewer which trots on google for WA Ariel Photo's
and with a bit of this n that i've now got the exact GPS coords for the spot...

So yeah i'm stoked and as keen as a fat kid eatin a sticky bun ...

What have I done today ? some research into areas even if it's and old area. No sense in going to an area that is not known for gold now is there, or is there ?
DMPWA do have some good stuff but finding new ground that will give it up is part of the fun of searching.

i stayed home and jumped on google earth and may have found a few good spots, i'm going for a swing tomorrow so i might have a look i think.

Bigger bits dude, I can see it coming

Mine was a beauty! first swing in since getting back to Laverton after my Christmas break, first swing for 2012.

Was a sunny 26 degrees and the machine was purring like a kitten. Got 4 little babies off some old scrapes in the first hour then went for a prospect.

Got a nice inverted signal in some rather unlikely looking ground and at 14" and smack on top of bedrock, out popped this beauty!



Still a signal in the hole, but I filled it in and will go back with a bigger pick and a smaller coil

well done mad! good stuff , nice one ! I would be very happy If I found that :)

One section of the fellas journal he reports of finding a 19oz and a 7oz Dab the same day in
his blower chute, i can only wonder what his cleanup was like...

My Sunday consisted of a 'Dorky' and a great Sunday it was....Not as good as Tuna's

$55.38 in coins, a junk ring and some other bits.....Still the highlight was seeing my mate get bogged in sand, then me getting bogged trying to pull him out, then the 4wd getting bogged to pull us out.... bloody sand
