19" Coil Minelab for 7000 GPZ
hi all,
Just spent a week various grounds around Cue & Meekatharra testing the new 19" disc.
I found it to be heavy, definitely a "two" hand job. Yet to be convinced it is a big step forward. Would be interested in opinion of anybody who also has one.
Cheers
Bob

Hi Bob,
From what I've been seeing, I don't think I'll bother getting it.
There's a chap on youtube who has put up 4 or 5 short clips of his 19" coil. I get the feeling he's not happy with it.
This is the link to his page on youtube, there's actually 5 vid clips.

Hi Cliff & Crazy Pete
I found it to be very heavy, definitely need two hands. Picked up shot gun pellets, still noisy in noisy ground, but in one week I never picked up a hot rock. Found it to be very sensitive when touching a rock or plant. Has a bigger foot print, so you cover more ground. Will be very interesting to use in the season ahead. Bob

Gidday Guys,
I've got one as well. It is heavy, but manageable.
The friction created by the rubber edging on the skid plate is a real problem. I spent an hour with a Stanley knife and stripped off all the rubber edging, and it's made a huge difference ! Coil slides far more easily.
Is very bump sensitive, which is a pain !
I haven't found anything deep yet, but the growth all over the paddocks around here is too long at the moment to give it a real test.
I am looking forward to giving it a good go when I come to WA next year !
Rick

G'day Rick :)
I was over your way a couple weeks ago mate, had a quick look along the range to the west but decided to go elsewhere as its all deep lead stuff up there.
We shot through to our usual spot further north and done well, Mrs got 36 bits and I got 51 in a day n half.

Gidday Pete,
Well done mate !
I've got numerous patches in paddocks to redo with the big coil, just got to wait for the 4 legged lawnmowers to cut the grass !
Cheers,
Rick
