Boosters

Am looking for recommendations for a booster to suit a SDC 2300.....I've read many references to B&Z which appears to get positive reviews. My local prospecting stores carry Gromkey brand by Horvath Products but I cannot seem to find out anything about them, any first hand experiences anyone on either ?

I thoroughly recommend the B&z booster have them on all of my detectors for the 2300 you will need a patch lead about $110. I have B&Z and speaker all mounted on my 2300 and it works a treat. If you want more info i will send you some pics.

DETacc booster and GME shoulder speaker works a treat.
Cheaper than the rooster booster and same performance.
From Central west prospecting supplies, mudgee.
Important to use good quality batteries with boosters, rechargeable ones don't have the staying power, you'll only get half a day outta em.
I use Eveready Ultra 9v and get 4 days @ 12 hrs detecting each day.

Can someone please explain - what does a booster do that turning up the volume wouldn't? What am I missing?

it does more than just turning up the volume Woteva, i believe it boosts the faint signals making them stand out more through the background noises. the volume adjustment is limited with the SDC, its more an increase of gain/sensitivity rather than volume. i use the B&Z booster and find it works great and have tried testing it on a undug signal with the booster off and on and found the target response will pull you up to investigate rather than walking over it. IMO.
